Discount Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Game of the Year Edition

This is no doubt one of my favorite games of all time (well, right now, my top 5 are Super Smash Bros Brawl, Mass Effect, KotOR, Bioshock, and the Modern Warfare duo)

It's hard to give a graphical description of how it is, so I will rate it by different categories

Design: Outstanding campaign, strong multiplayer, and arcade mode is a nice touch. The campaign is the best part though; I've played the last mission so many times because of the way it shows the endgame so well and how dramatic it looks. It has you looking through your guy's eyes as he lies on the ground injured and sees the lead bad guy of the game start approaching you. Suddenly a helicopter explodes over his head and he turns around. During that time your captain tosses you his pistol from 10 feet away, and you are charged to make the last shots in your disoriented position! hard to explain, but you'll understand it when you play it and see every moment like this one.

Gameplay: This is the best part. As explained, the interaction is incredibly cinematic, everything is accurately put together, and there are plenty of distinct modern weapons with their attachments that you will grow to love using. The multiplayer in mass battles can be a bit messy, but with about 20 people it feels just right.

Graphics: unbelievable. Was runner up in most places to the best graphics of the year (Crysis, which unfortunately for COD came out in the same year, took it, that came consequently cannot look better). The developers really did a great job to make you feel like you are a soldier, with all the brilliant environments, animations, particle effects, and character models.

Sound: Great orchestrated music and nice sound effects. Unfortunately in this category I'm not sure how to say more than that.

Lasting Appeal: Nice hefty campaign with some replay value in it if you haven't beaten it on Veteran mode yet and you want to strive for it. Multiplayer will keep you going for a while as well.

THE BOX COPY IMPRESSIONS
There's not much that the box copy will do bad to you except for the fact that unless you have the disc inserted you can't play the single player. You can play multiplayer without it though.

Overall: Nice package, solid value in it, no doubt going to be a remembered instant classic. 5 stars is the most reasonable score I can give it.Get more detail about Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Game of the Year Edition.

Cheapest Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

"Star Wars: The Force Unleashed" had the potential to be a great game: incredible graphics, interesting story, and the whole Star Wars universe to work with. While the game comes out looking fantastic, it's ruined by horrible playability. Simply put: this game is what I have always feared RPG games would be. The camera has a hard time following you; I died numerous times simply because the camera shifted to where both the Apprentice AND his opponent weren't on-screen. And the controls are sluggish; if you want to strike with your light saber, you have to anticipate when you'll use it, and press the button about a second in advance (in case you're wondering, your enemies don't have the same hesitation). And don't even think of trying to swing your light saber while in midair; you will simply hang in the air, executing an impressive-looking combo, while your enemies are free to shoot you at their leisure.

Maybe it was just the system I played on (PS3), but "The Force Unleashed" had far too many flaws for my taste. Get this: there's the option to save during a game, at any time you want...but you can't load from where you saved, you can only load from where the game automatically saved you (which isn't always in a logical spot; I walked away after spending a couple hours trying to defeat a difficult character--thanks, crappy camera--and then, when I finally beat it, I died immediately afterward by falling into a pit because the camera couldn't keep up with me, and had to start over BEFORE the battle). The loading time, too, is unbelievably slow; and you have to load a lot--there are even loading times to go between menu options!

Ultimately, I feel let down by "The Force Unleashed." Is it an incredible-looking game? Oh yes. Is it fun? Yeah, until you get so frustrated you want your money back. I gave it three stars because I have the feeling I will return to it in a few weeks, once I've gotten a few other games out of my system, and have the time to just die repeatedly. But as it stands, I'm rather sorry I bought this game. Could've been great, but too many flaws ruin the experience.Get more detail about Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.

Buy Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection

This is just what it looks like - a collection of Sega Genesis titles for the 360, complete with updated graphics, achievements and save capability.

The collection is a decent cross-section of the platform's offerings, with the noticable exception of sports games, which are totally absent. Most of the classics are here though, like Sonic, Streets of Rage and Ecco. There are also a few deep cuts and the occasional "why did this one make the cut?" choice, but as a whole the collection is solid, especially when counting the nine unlockable games.

The achievements (33 total) are a curious lot. Not all the games have them, and the ones that do have only one as far as I've seen. Sometimes they're involved (like unlocking Roo as a playable character in Streets of Rage 3) and other times they're almost ridiculously easy (like "Get a Chaos Emerald" in Sonic). Most are worth 30G. I would have liked to see more achievements worth less. That way each of the 40 primary games could get 25G and have multiple achievements. Instead of having only one achievement for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 ("Get 100 Rings with Tails in the first level" for 30G), we could get four or five ("Beat the game in any mode" (5G), "Get 100 Rings with Tails in the first level" (5G), "Get a perfect on a Special Stage" (10G), "Collect all the Chaos Emeralds" (5G)).

The "Save" feature is very nice, meaning you don't have to have a five-hour session to beat a particular game. The listing of the games is also a nice touch: you can do it alphabetially, by genre, by release date. Players can also rate the games on a scale of 1 to 5 and sort the games by their ratings.

The graphics have also improved, though not so much so they don't still feel like the originals (think what the memory add-on for the N64 did to that console's standard games and you get the idea). This is accomplished via a widescreen option and a smoothing option (like the Genesis titles you can get on the Xbox Live Arcade).

All in all, this is a good collection of classic titles at a decent price (if you downloaded them all from the Xbox Live Arcade - most are available there - you would be paying a lot more) with some other titles thrown in for good measure.Get more detail about Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection.

Order Burnout Paradise

What I don't liked about the game was that you're in an unreal city. I like Gran Turismo cause you compete on real locations. The other thing I didn't like is that you've to use many unrealistic things like the turbo function in order to win and not your real skill as a pilot.Get more detail about Burnout Paradise.

Where To Buy Rock Band 2

Let's face it, there are tons of different music games out nowadays. Seems like every year 2 or 3 new games come out based around playing in a band or by yourself using an instrument. Even though this game is mostly just Rock Band with a new set of songs, this is the best deal around if you want a game of this genre.

I'll admit the song selection is a little on the lackluster side, but that's not the reason you should get this. You should get this because of three reasons. The first being that the world tour/career mode is probably the longest of any game of this genre's. There will even be the occasional online competition made available to you if all those playlists you have to go through didn't do it for ya. The second reason is variety. You'll find songs from the 60's up until today being played in the best form possible. There is something here for everyone in that respect. Finally, and most importantly, this game prospers from an immense downloadable content section on the Playstation Network. There are literally hundreds of songs to choose from, and considering each is only one or two dollars apiece, it's a much more cost-effective means of getting a hold of your favorite songs without having to spend $[...] everytime a new guitar hero comes out. Plus you're not getting a bunch of songs picked out by a bunch of monkeys in a room somewhere. You're choosing songs YOU want.

So if you don't have this game, and you're getting bored of Guitar Hero or DJ Hero or whatever other Hero you have...go on the Playstation Network and check out the content for this game. The list of songs will boggle your mind, and not only that, but you can import the songs from your Rock Band 1 game to play in this game...for absolutely free. Sure, Lego Rock Band lets you import songs, but you have to pay a $[...] fee. Seems like a waste of a lot of money to me. The price on Rock Band 2 is very low right now, and you can easily get 10 songs with a $[...] Playstation Network card. The graphics may not be the best, but you're going to be looking at a stream of notes anyways. If you don't have this, do yourself a favor and get a copy. You won't be disappointed.Get more detail about Rock Band 2.

Shop For Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories

This is a new story after the first Kingdom Hearts but it has similar places and battles from the first one. It is harder trying to adjust to the method of fighting which is with cards as moves. Overall this is a fun lead into the second Kingdom Hearts by remembering some experiences from the first one. Get more detail about Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 Top Quality

I think this game was really a lot of fun, and let's be honest, there aren't a lot of games out there that let you play with characters in the Marvel Universe. While it may not be the greatest game when it comes to graphics, it is a Wii, so you can't compare it to PS3 or XBox 360.

The story line is sound, the characters available are great, and the game play is fun. If you are a Marvel fan, especially an X-Men fan like me, this is your only chance to play as Gambit or Cyclops, so pick up a copy and enjoy! Get more detail about Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2.

NCAA Basketball 10 This instant

This game is simply awful, I read many poor and so so reviews for this product, however, since it is the only college basketball game available this year and I am a huge fan of college basketball I purchased it. I truly regret this purchase, for the first two weeks I tried to overlook the countless glaring flaws, but I have now accepted the fact that I will never play this game again. The sole positive is this games presentation, the CBS and ESPN presentations are excellent, even though the dialog is often wrong and very repetitive that is the case with most sports games and is not that much of an issue. Where the problem lies is the control, it is dismal the players that you "control" running out of bounds back courts driving to the basket when you are trying to shoot a three pointer, the awful passing and lost dribbles, saving the ball from going out of bounds to the person you stole it from, rampant turnovers. What you do with the game pad has so little impact on what is happening on the screen it is unbearable. Double Dribble on the NES is a more realistic basketball sim than this and has better control and player movement. Avoid this like the plague, you will be better for it.Get more detail about NCAA Basketball 10.

Wii Charge Base Induction Charger Immediately

I just want to clarify something that I saw in a previous review. Yes, it is true that the batteries are attached to the cover and this would make it impossible to sync with a Wii. The charger, however, comes with a small white wand that fits into the small hole on the back of the battery cover. This hole leads to the sync button, so you don't have to have a pocket full of batteries going to your friend's house.

As for the product, the charger works great. Not having to remove any of the attachments is a plus, and it was the reason for my interest in it. I don't even see a problem with only having two cradles, since it is usually my wife and I that play together. If we have plans with friends, we charge the other remotes ahead of time. My favorite part about, however, is that you can play until your arm is sore, place the remotes on the charger, and wake up to a green light.

I've spent a lot of time doing research and trial and error sessions with chargers and battery packs. As far as Wii accessories, Nyko seems to have the answer to whatever the Nintendo company comes up with.Get more detail about Wii Charge Base Induction Charger.

NCAA Football 10 Best Quality

In response to Matthew Baer, in regards to the "Road to Glory (RTG) Mode" if you want your player to be a part of the action on nearly every play then you should set up your audibles to run plays that will highlight your player, running plays if you have a RB. Passing plays for a WR or QB or RB. Also for QB, some QB option plays where he can run the ball. I have found the only way to set up the audibles is to get out of RTG mode and go to some other mode like dynasty, and then set them up, and they will stay when you return to the RTG mode. I wish there were more than 5 possible audible plays. So you can be involved in nearly every play.
For RTG a few keys:
1) Do well in the initial training/try outs. Try to maximize your overall rating to get the most options on the most teams if that is your desire. So if this doesn't go well, you might want to try this again.
2) To maximize your bonus points don't beat the goals by much. In your first game if you go crazy and gain 400 yards, then the goals will be that high for the next game. So for a RB if you want to do well, just make the running goals barely, then go to the pass once you've made them. For a QB make your passing goals barely, then run for glory after.
3) Practice is a waste of time. SIM that. Bonus points come from games and the position training.

Overall Road to Glory (RTG) mode is loads of fun. Dynasty mode is great fun too. Wish they did not limit you to 10 years. What's with that? Joe P has been coaching forever.

For Dynasty I always found you will get plenty of recruits if you win all your games.

A big plus of 2010 NCAA seems to be slightly faster load times versus the previous versions. PSP needs to get this to near zero. I was hoping this would be the case with PSP go, but I'm not sure about that.

Tekken 6 Limited Edition Wireless Fight Stick Bundle Get it now!

I really enjoyed playing the game and the sticks reaction was pretty good, but not perfect, as anything that runs on batteries will slow down until they get replaced, but was nice to see that they did last for a fairly long time, before you see a big difference in the lag time and it will show online. As for the game itself I really enjoyed playing and will continue to do so until I get really good at kicking some butt.Get more detail about Tekken 6 Limited Edition Wireless Fight Stick Bundle.

Kingdom Hearts II Buy Now

Let's get something straight right away. I did NOT like the first Kingdom Hearts for the Playstation 2. While I loved the cut-scenes, the voice-acting, the graphics, the world, and the oh-so-awesome opening music, I found the tedious battles, frustrating platforming, horrendous level music, meandering story, and lack of any drama just killed the experience for me. Truth be told, I bought the game twice and sold it twice, and never did beat it (I got to Hollow Bastion and just couldn't take it anymore). I saw this game on sale for $10.00 and picked up a copy. It sat on my shelf for months until I decided to pick it up for a brief play. Oh....my....goodness!!!!!!

This game is not only one of the best RPGs on the PS2, it is one of the best RPGs ever. Seriously. Right up there with Xenogears, Xenosaga, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VII, ect. The graphics in the first game were good. The graphics in this game are outstanding. The opening music in the first game was amazing. The music through almost this entire game is fantastic (there is some lame music from the first game, and the first world music is just passable). And while the first Kingdom Hearts was mostly just a tribute to all things Disney, this game is also a tribute to things Final Fantasy.

The new plot for this game manages to take what was basically a gimmick in the first game (world-hopping to find your friends and a mysterious guy named Ansem whilst fighting the heart-devouring Heartless), and turns it into a bonifide epic as a mysterious organization, armies of darkness, and classic Disney villains all clash to accomplish their own objectives. The plot of this game is amazing, absolutely fantastic. And all the new Square characters from the Organization manage to be both compelling and cool almost instantly, which each having signature weapons and personality that makes you immediately accept them as part of the story.

The gameplay of the first game was a good idea, but EXTREMELY poorly executed, as you would basically fight hordes of identical or nearly-identical Heartless for hour, upon hour, upon hour, till you wanted to pull your hair out (try mashing the X button for 10 hours straight and falling over and over again on the platforming elements). In this game things are nicely mixed up by improving the overall flow of the fights, making your comrades more intelligent, and giving you lots of battle options (limit-breaks, summons, forms, and the awesome reaction commands). The reaction commands in particular make the combat much better. At times they are just quick-button-press-events ala God of War/Spiderman 3 where you press the triangle button at the right time to complete attacks. But later on they trigger combined attacks, other character's special attacks, and your own special attacks, giving a gee-whiz ultimate move feel to battles that would instead by infinite X button presses (at certain times these attacks will become Dynasty Warrior's style uber-moves that annihilate swarms of Heartless among a sea of enemies {unbelievable as that sounds, it's even better than you can imagine}.

While most of the battles of this game are easy, some of the boses are actually quite difficult due to massive damage caused by their moves and the difficulty in executing needed attacks (but the game never cheats or feels cheap). One time I actually was KO'ed by one of the bosses from Organization XIII, but instead of starting the encounter from the beginning, I was immediately assisted by a hard-core Mickey Mouse who did massive damage to the enemy and then revived my entire party. At that point I realized that this was just just a good game, but a GREAT game.

I cannot overemphasize how much this game is improved by dropping all the pointless back-tracking and bang-your-head-against-the-pavement platforming of the first game. Half of the time when you are told you need to go somewhere it immediately triggers a cut-scene where you are ALREADY THERE! If you tire of pointlessly wandering around dungeons in most RPGs you will find the incredibly elegant (yet simplified) interface and game design of this game a breath of fresh air. Very enjoyable.

Again, the whole Disney universe feel of this game is used to great effect, and the unique attributes of each of the Disney movies are used to a much fuller extent. In the Little Mermaid World you will play a music mini-game, you'll fight Heartless on Light-Cycles in the TRON world, and you'll be thrust straight into the climax of Pirates of the Caribean, Mulan, and other favorites. Even the lame shooter from the first Kingdom Hearts gets a massive upgrade, becoming a part of the game you may actually enjoy thanks to its infusion of Panzer Dragoon-meets-F-Zero style. The interplay between the main characters is so good in this game that I actually realized I was growing to love Donald and Goofy in a way I hadn't felt since I was a kid (they are way more lovable in this game than the first). And then there are the stand-out moments like when you go into the past and Donald and Goofy look exactly like they did in the old black-and-white Disney cartoons. There are so many great moments in this game that there is bound to be SOMETHING that makes you grin like a pumpkin.

The beginning of this game, the first couple of hours, is by far the weakest part of the game as far as compelling gameplay and wow moments, perhaps deceiving you into thinking the game will be boring and weak. But just wait. As soon as you go to the first world the game kicks into high gear. And all the strange confusing things that happen in the first few hours are important and contribute to one of the best stories I have ever seen in an RPG. No joke.

If you liked the first Kingdom Hearts you will love this game. If you hated it you may still love this game, because it is absolutely amazing in every way that counts. Awesome story, awesome characters (Kairi is much more of a character you care about this time around, all the Square characters are great, and the dialog spoken by all the Disney classics is great stuff full of humor and drama), great graphics, outstanding muic, a fantastic battle system that never gets old, and plenty of the Disney charm that has kept fans loyal all these years. Oh, and Maleficent is the greatest villain in history. You can pick this game up for cheap, but even at full price it's worth every penny. A must-own for RPG lovers, and one of the greatest RPGs ever made without a doubt.

Deca Sports 2 Order Now

This is possibly the single worst game that I have played on the Wii. The controls are, to use appropriate language, a complete joke. The games are also not that fun to begin with. The only game that had potential was dodge ball and that fell through once I found out that catching the ball, along with dodging it are next to impossible. I am blown away at the crap that game testers and companies let hit the shelves. One word describes this game, pathetic. Husdon doesn't even get points for effort. MX vs ATV Reflex Decide Now

MX vs. ATV reflex is big improvement over past MX vs. ATV titles. The graphics are excellent and the new reflex control system works really well. However, the online game play is ridiculous; you have to wait 30 to 45 minutes in a loading area for a match to start. After it does, no telling what will happen. Sometimes it works and you get to race but, most of the time it tosses you out after ½ a lap or so. Please do some research before buying this game for online multiplayer on Xbox Live.

Cheap Avatar

I was a little skeptical at first about this game but it is pretty cool for this old man. The graphics are awesome!! to say the least and the colors are out of this world. I bet the game is better than the movie. Being stuck inside all the time I don't get out to see very many movies but.....

The story line takes you battling your way around the planet attempting to save the locals from the Hue-Mon's genocide plans. Right now I am playing on wimpy level since I am old. Once I get a real handle on a game then I turn up the fire. I actually really like this game A lot. It is fun to play and the action is great. I've had a couple of glitches. I got stuck once inbetween some rocks and the game locked up a couple of times and because of that it only gets 4 stars.

It took me about 8 hour of play to figure out the controls and all their uses. During the heat of the battle you have super powers that you learn along the way since you are human inside an Avatar after all.
There are lots of upgrades to your powers controlled by how much stuff you kill or find in each area of the planet. And to really top it off. Someone actually did some real homework on the real-life facts about the science of the game. So I suggest to you younger folks read all the facts and goodies which are available in game. This games is ready for 3D enabled monitors or TV's so I can hardly wait to get my own 3D monitor.

I've been playing about 24 hours now and only have scratched the surface for game play percentage. This is a long game. You will definitely get your moneys worth out of this one. Oh Yea! you get to go up and down physically in the game and I mean way up. Your ride various animals as an Avatar in the Air and on the ground. As a human in the first part of the game you get to drive around in human built stuff. Avatar animals are way funner.

Like I said the graphics are awesome and just beautiful. This game is truly a keeper and a stocking stuffer for the rich and for broke folks like me this is all I will get plus a lump of coal. Ha! ha!

This game is worth the $56 Bucks to me anyway.

I am playing almost all my games right now with the splitfish Frag 2.1 controller PS3 FragFX Controller V.2 SE and had to fix the thing since it had a broken black wire that comes from the mouse section. Like I have mentioned I am an old guy and have been playing games on the computer for a very long time. It involved a keyboard and a mouse. So when the itty bitty sticks came out for the game pads I was brain dead.. and to this day cannot use them. The split fish is good but I am trying another one soon (XFPS RATEUP adapter (their out of stock)) and will write all about it.Get more detail about Avatar.

Buying DeBlob

My sons are really into shoot-em games lately, and I'm struggling to find games that are as fun and interesting but don't involve violence. My 9-year old picked this out and is really delighted with it, and my 7 year old loves it too. The basic game interaction is to collect colors from roaming color wells and then use the color to restore the city from black and white inflicted upon it by the invading Inky Army. The storyline of the game provides for a heroic and satisfying defeat of the army once the game is played through, and yet playing through doesn't make it stale - the kids still like the other game elements. My kids get really physical and active jumping around and playing the game, and they like the artistic component about it. Are we creating a future generation of Banksy style artists who think graffiti should not be a crime? Only time will tell. Get more detail about DeBlob.

Order Little King's Story

I got this game because I am interested in games where you have to build up your city and you are in charge of everything. After reading numerous reviews, I felt like I was promised that much and more in this game.

The game starts with you being crowned king of a country and you have to work to build it up and give people jobs, and have them join your army. What the reviews didn't tell me was that this game was kind of hard. Now, it may not be hard for gamers, but for someone like me, who doesn't really play video games, who got the wii because it was more family friendly it was hard.

There were points in the game where I had no idea what I was meant to be doing (no real help in the game, took me researching online to find answers). The game is also very repetitive, with you having to do the same things over and over again to raise money.

Also, make sure you save the game frequently. I didn't realize how important that was until I died 3 hours into playing the game and had to start all the way at the beginning again!

All in all, this game was fun, cute and an enjoyable way to pass the time.Get more detail about Little King's Story.

Shop For Guitar Hero on Tour Decades Bundle

We bought the DSi only a week before we got the game because my son wanted it so badly. The Guitar Hero was the only game he really wanted so we bought it for his birthday. Well--no where on Amazon did they say it wouldn't work on DSi's & ALL other games do so we didn't know. We bought it & my son opened it & we couldn't even hook it up. Now we have a game that was expensive & can only get 50% if we return it. Used games stores will only give us like $6 for it... This is rediculous as it's never been played & in it's original box (only thing missing is the plastic wrap!). Very disappointed that it is not on the box anywhere or even on the Amazon website that it is not compatible for any other system than the DS.

Instead of smiles for my sons b-day--he was in tears!!!

Not sure I would trust Amazon to order DS games again!!! At least if I had bought it in the store I could have returned it for a FULL refund! Get more detail about Guitar Hero on Tour Decades Bundle.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Review

I had high hopes for this game, but it's just not interesting enough to continue. Controls are a bit difficult and there doesn't seem to be a great plot. It's too much like those old mech games back in the 90s. It's too easy for 3D game manufacturers to create stuff like this. All in all, it's boring and is nearly as bad as the movie, and for the same reason. The 3D itself is okay, but not what I expected. The still captures are better than what you actually get.Get more detail about Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

Gran Turismo This instant

What can i say about this game: it IS what other racing games should try to be like. The graphics are phenominal. There are many orginal Gran Turismo courses that you will find on the Playstation version. There is a wide selection of cars. But, like with everything else though, there are some bads. The tracks can get boring, about every 2-3 days (time on the game), only 4 different dealerships are avilible, and in those 4 dealerships, thery only offer about 12 different cars at a time. You also can't manually adjust the engine components (e.g., turbo, boost, etc.). You can, however, adjust the camber, caster, dampers, spring rate, and ride height. Overall, despite the somewhat repeditivness of the game, it is a definite must have for the PSP.Get more detail about Gran Turismo.

Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe Best Quality

Get more detail about Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe.

Ear Force X31 Digital RF Wireless Game Audio + Xbox Live Chat Get it now!

I didn't find too many options out there for decent wireless headsets. I bought these and returned them the same day, since the cons outweighed the pros for my use (primarily MW2).

Pros:
- Sounds effects add to the audio experience
- Comfortable over the ear fit

Cons:
- Not out of the box compatible with Xbox 360 Elite or other newer premium systems if you are using HDMI, since since there are no built in RCA audio jacks. Microsoft made the included AV cable with these systems such that you can't plug it in along with a HDMI cable. The AV cable blocks the HDMI slot. You can spend $40 on the Microsoft HDMI AV cable ($10 on eBay for a knockoff) which is thinner if you want to use HDMI with this headset. Alternatively, you can hack the included cable (look on YouTube for tutorial)or use the RCA audio out jacks on your tv (if you have them).
- Noticeable latency (<1 sec) between tv speaker audio and headphone audio.
- Very cheap quality. I thought the battery cover would break while removing it...
- Your voice might echo in the game lobby of MW2, or be very faint. I experienced both.
- Audio hiss

Cooking Mama World Kitchen Order Now

I have played/owned ALL of the Cooking Mama series for both DS and the Wii but this one is by far a big disappointment. The Graphics are better but the control commands are terribly confusing. It's hard to figure out and if an Adult such as myself has trouble figuring out what you're suppose to do then I'm by sure a kid would struggle with it as well. The game seems like it was made sloppy and not fully thought through. But I still find it fun and probably after you continue playing you'll get the hang of the controls. It ain't so bad. 50/50 rating. Get more detail about Cooking Mama World Kitchen.

Lowest Price Gears of War 2 - Game of the Year Edition

The original Gears of War wasn't the all mighty game that a lot of people claimed it to be, it had dozens glitches and was a short game that didn't offer much replay value.
However, with the sequel, these problems are unseen. The game is three times longer than it's predecessor, has a steady frame-rate, even better online multiplayer (but still has lag problems, unfortunately), and to top it off, truely amazing graphics.

STORY: The sequel picks up a couple of months after the original, the locust have returned with a force even more agressive than before and have begun to sink entire cities.
On a side note, the game contains a very intresting sub-plot, Dom (Marcus' best friend and brother in arms) is searching for his wife Maria throughout the game. This was a great decision on EPIC's part to include this in the game because it gives you a reason to like the main characters even more and also gives you an even better reason to hate the locust.

GAME-PLAY: While still heavy and sometimes clunky, it is even more violent and in your face then any game out there. It plays nothing like the original, in my opinion anyway. This game has set the bar for third person shooters in almost every way possible

GRAPHICS: Polished to near perfection, with minor pop-in and frame-rate issues, this is the best looking game on the xbox 360. (At least for the time being)

GAME OF THE YEAR EDITION: This edition of the game includes all the downloadable maps. These maps are the selling point of this edition (but you must have xbox live to download them), plus "The Road to Ruin" deleted scene is a lot better than parts of the regular game.

THE VERDICT: If don't already own this game, then this is the perfect package.Get more detail about Gears of War 2 - Game of the Year Edition.

Low Price Shin Megami Tensei: Persona

Persona / B001V7UX1W

Persona was the first game I ever played on the Playstation 1, and I had never seen anything quite like it - before or since. I had played, and loved, many "save the princess" medieval-flavored RPGs, but I had never seen an RPG like Persona - so dark and yet so steeped in the "real" world. The high school in Persona felt more real and immediate to me than any dozen or so fantasy worlds; little touches like the variant personalities of your friends (loner, snob, air-head) which superficially hid deeper, more human traits simply blew me away.

Really, there's nothing about Persona that I didn't love. The plot is masterfully dark and human, and I emphasized strongly with Mary, an ill girl who struggles with feelings of anger and hopelessness as the world passes her by. The soundtrack is absolutely gorgeous, and again takes a more modern, dark twist over the light-hearted tracks of this RPG's fantasy counterpart. Even little touches like the varied battle-shouts, actual guns (!) used in battle against the demons, and the hilarious contact system which allowed you to bully, bribe, and barter with your enemies blew me away.

When they announced the re-release of Persona on the PSP, I couldn't pre-order fast enough. Partly for the joy of taking my favorite game of all time on the plane with me, but *mostly* for the newly restored "Snow Queen Quest" which, as a child, I was always distraught that Atlas hadn't released with the original game. And, in many - perhaps, MOST - ways, this is a textbook example of exactly how to re-release a game... for the most part.

First, I was pleased to note that the story has not been altered or changed. The original translation has been replaced, which is usually a pet peeve of mine, but the new translation matches up pretty well to the story I'm familiar with. New hints are dropped at the beginning regarding the Snow Queen Quest, which I do appreciate as it makes the new quest more immersive and less of an "add-on". The world map has been upgraded to more closely resemble the world map in Persona 2, and as the world map in Persona 1 was the *only* thing I didn't like about the game, this change is for the best. Everything else is largely unchanged - the graphics are largely the same, and seem subtly 'brighter' and more vibrant. The game cut-scenes are absolutely gorgeous, although it does seem a bit surprising that captions aren't offered as a choice in this day and age - I guess deaf people don't play video games or they get to have a friend translate the spoken-words in the cut scenes.

Really, though, in most ways that matter, this is the game I knew and loved. The Snow Queen Quest is a welcome addition (although the difficultly level is nothing to sneer at, and you pretty much *have* to power level your way through the game, which can take some of the fun out of it). Annoyingly, you do have to perform a Guide Dang It series of conversations before the SQQ will open up - it's not something that anyone will stumble into, I'm afraid, much like the original Guide Dang It actions for getting Chris (which were largely *possible* to stumble into... as long as you spoke to everyone _once_, but didn't speak to certain people _twice_, and of course, you had to deliberately seek out party members in order to turn them down when they asked to join!).

And the mention of Chris segues me neatly into my translation complaints. I know I'm going to get dinged for this, but I preferred the American names of the characters to the Japanese names and I'm sorry to have those names lost. I can remember which character is 'Mark' and which character is 'Mary', but trying to assign gender in my brain between two equally unfamiliar names like 'Maki' and 'Masao' is difficult to perform on the fly. And expecting me to remember the differences between 'Yuki', 'Yuka', and 'Yuko' is just unreasonable, and I say this as someone who watches more anime than most, I would wager. Also, am I the only one who doesn't understand why game companies will translate, say, the description of spells, but not the actual NAME of said spells? It's all well and good to tell me that a spell is cure spell, but why change the name from "Cure" (the English name in the original) to "Dia"? Having to learn all these arbitrary changes makes battle slow and cumbersome ("Dia" - was that the spell that cures people or the spell that raises 'diamond' defense walls?) and for what purpose? Don't even get me *started* on the new Persona names. I was equally disappointed to see that the Americanization of the characters has been discarded - the African-American character has reverted back to Japanese, and all the blondes, brunettes, and redheads have black hair again, making it tricky to tell them apart in battle, given that everyone has an identical school uniform on.

I also have to register a complaint with the soundtrack changes - the original Persona 1 had the most intensely awesome soundtrack ever, but what's with this new stuff? Most of it is good and fine, but the battle music is bloody TERRIBLE and it never seems to change up. It sounds like a pop-song from the Britney Spears era and if you think that hearing "Hit Me Baby One More Time" or the Japanese equivalent Every. Single. Battle. won't get old after the first dozen battles, then bully on you, but I wasn't born with that kind of patience. Especially considering that the Persona games are kind of notorious for frequent battles.

Having now whined myself inside-out, this is still an awesome game. If you're new to the series, buy it and check it out - you won't be disappointed. If you're a long-time fan, buy it for the Snow Queen Quest...just remember to grind yourself silly before you enter the school. Oh, and I'll post the trigger events in the comments section here.

Save Clubhouse Games

I bought Clubhouse Games for Nintendo DS for my grandson because he wants to learn to play chess and I thought he could use this game to practice. I have one of these that I got a couple of years ago. I just love it. I play many of the games but my favorite is Grid Attack. This game is somewhat like the battleship games where you blow up the other guy's ships. But the twist here, is you can play with four players. It really increases the options and hence the risk. If you are an adult already familiar with board games and card games, many of them are available on this disk, perfect for pastime fun. If you are a child, like my 9 year old grandson, this disk is perfect for practicing your skill at these games. This disk is not fancy. You don't shoot at invaders or race against the clock. But the games are timeless in their ability to interest and amuse. This game is well worth the money. Get more detail about Clubhouse Games.

Discount Daxter

Don't let the cartoon characters fool you, this game is very well done and has quite a bit of depth. I'm over 30 and thought my son would like it, but I ended up playing it much more than he has. The controls are great, the animation and graphics are first rate, funny story and dialogue, and a good variety of gameplay. Some levels you are squashing bugs, some levels you are riding a hoverbike, some are platform challenges. Easily one of my top 2 or three fav. PSP games.Get more detail about Daxter.

Cheap Drawn to Life: Spongebob Squarepants Edition

I asked my nine year old and this was his review- "I like that I can create my own avatar. I like going into battle with it. It's fun to walk around with your avatar and you can draw your own guy." My seven year old son concurs. They think girls would probably like it, too. Get more detail about Drawn to Life: Spongebob Squarepants Edition.

Buying Wii SPORTS Game "5 Games in 1" for Nintendo Wii PERFECT

I bought a Wii console about two weeks ago and Wii Sports came with it. I am not into video games as such and have never played with a Wii before. Of the 5 games I play Tennis the most. Your control for this, (bowling, golf and baseball) is very similar to the flippers on a pinball machine. Imagine your arms being replaced by straight poles connected to your shoulder joints. You have no wrist or elbow action, just the timing of when the ball contacts the pole. Except and embrace this reality and the game can be somewhat enjoyable. There appears to be some random motions as occasionally I serve up an ace without knowing why. I haven't a clue on the depth of my return volley, I do know I can't just hold the "racket" still and have the ball bounce off of it. This results in a complete miss, a non-action. The bowling game is the easiest of the lot as all you do is line up the shot and swing your arm. In baseball hitting the ball I more or less can control if I miss, hit a foul ball or a ball in play. I haven't figured out if one can aim for the bleachers, try and hit a grounder or a short pop up to midfield. To me these occur randomly. You have more control as the pitcher with the ability to throw four types of pitches, inside, across the middle of the plate, or outside. Golfing has similar controls has the pitcher and is the game I play second most often. I haven't figured out the boxing yet although I've won a few times. Since this game came with the console I'm suspecting it is one of the older games for the Wii and that several better adaptations are available now. Since I'm new to the Wii, this game disk gives me the opportunity to learn the basics of how to move. I imagine I'll be finding a better sports disk in the near future. For a newbie like me, this is OK for now.Get more detail about Wii SPORTS Game "5 Games in 1" for Nintendo Wii PERFECT.

Buy LEGO Batman

i really enjoyed lego star wars, was really disappointed by lego indiana jones, and absolutely loved lego batman!!! having such a huge variety of characters to play from (each with his/her special powers) added a lot to the game. batman required a lot more thinking than lego indiana jones. you also get to play in villain mode, which is AWESOME (a lot more fun than hero mode in my opinion!). i dont have a 360 anymore but i enjoyed this game so much that im thinking of purchasing the ps3 version of it.

oh yeah i spoke to the lego franchise people at E3 and they said that they were supposed to create lego lord of the rings but lost the license =( Get more detail about LEGO Batman.

Purchase Guitar Hero Metallica

Too bad it took so long for video games to get cool?! I could have used this years ago! No question that this game is the best for getting your metal groove on.
